Wenzel Metrology UK is a subdivision of the Wenzel Group, one of the largest metrology specialists in the world. Supplying huge-name brands like Rolls Royce, Bentley, and Magellan Aerospace, Wenzel offer their Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) technology to a wide range of industries, from automotive and aerospace to medical technology.

The Wenzel Group have had a lot to brag about over the last couple of years: they recently celebrated their 50th anniversary, achieved a record output of €92m in 2018, and officially installed their 9000th CMM to an Austrian steel manufacturer (pictured above). As Wenzel’s very first CMM was also sold in Austria, this is a great way to celebrate their prestigious history and highlight their ambition for the future.

Mark Marrable, UK Sales/Project Manager at Wenzel, explains that the UK division of the company is currently in their 25th year. “We are working hard to help improve the quality control processes of firms across the Midlands and beyond,” states Mr. Marrable.

“Recently, we launched our new SF 55 machine, which delivers accurate component assessment close to the production floor. It’s really innovations like these which are helping to keep us one step ahead of the competition, integrating our machinery direct into the production line so we can effectively become an extension of our client’s businesses.”

Mr. Marrable goes on to describe Wenzel’s unique approach to customer service, informed by decades of experience and expertise:

“We’re a family-run business with a global presence. It helps us to deliver machines from some of the best engineers in the world with a personal touch for our clients. They never feel like they are dealing with a big faceless corporation; instead they’ll have a dedicated project manager on hand, alongside a skilled team covering installation, setup and aftercare.”

Wenzel work with businesses of all kinds and sizes. Sometimes customers will want their own high-end machine manufactured, and sometimes retrofitting and upgrading existing equipment is more fitting with their needs and budget. Regardless, as Mr. Marrable explains, Wenzel will work closely with the customer to ensure they’re getting the most out of what they have.

Another example of what makes Wenzel so uniquely effective can be seen in their use of granite, their primary building material. Having identified granite as the best suited for their needs due to its stability and adaptability, Wenzel control the production process from the quarry to final assembly.

“I’d say it’s our willingness to adapt, as well as our 50+ year history with granite, that sets Wenzel and our machinery apart from the competition,” adds Mr. Marrable.

You can hear more about everything being accomplished at Wenzel by visiting them at the upcoming Made in the Midlands Expo. They’ll be bringing with them a Computed Tomography machine, as well as their expert knowledge so that attendees can find out first-hand how Wenzel machinery can work for them.

“We want anyone swinging by our stand to understand that we deliver partner-first solutions,” says Mr. Marrable, “not just catalogue machines, that save some of the biggest brands in the world vital time, money and efficiency gains on high performing products.”
